Pre-season starting point at Irdning

The squad left Real Madrid City at 3:15 pm CET to take a flight destined to Graz, where they landed with a small delay after 7 pm due to a problem with the luggage. Then, almost a two-hour commute by coach to Irdning to set up in the general headquarters of Fabio Capello at the Schloss Pichlarn Hotel. The weather is more agreeable than Madrid’s for all 23 players who begin this pre-season preparation period at Austria. Although the squad has been training for five days at Valdebebas, this will be the pre-season’s toughest period. The players will see or feel no further than Irdning greenery for the space of 20 days. These days will be devoted to recovering the lost physique and achieving the best possible form for a long and thrilling season. For the time being, the squad is made up of 23 footballers Diego López, Casilla, Codina (keepers), Raúl Bravo, Mejía, Arbeloa, Pavón, Helguera, Rubén, Woodgate, Diogo (defenders), Gravesen, Guti, Pablo García, Baptista, Juanfran, Balboa, De la Red, Borja (midfielders), Cassano, Jurado, Portillo and Soldado (forwards). Fiorentina and Lazio also have been demoted to Serie B. Fiorentina will begin te upcoming seasonwith -12 points, while Lazio will begin with -7 points.

AC Milan avoided demotion, but they will begin the upcoming season with -15 points.

None of these four clubs will be eligible to play in the Champions League or UEFA Cup this season, and they have three days to file an appeal with the Federal Court.

Is Capello being the same?

i mean look at what he is doing now. The same thing he did 10 years ago. Buy a very experienced top scorer (Van Nistelrooy), a good striker (Kaka), a central midfielder (Fabregas), a left back (Zambrotta), a defensive midfielder (Emerson). Now i dont know about you bas isnt that very similar to his old tactics. (meaning he wont change leading to other coaches knowing his tactics :S) and btw Fabregas signed a new contract so i dont think hes coming but Capello is keen on him.

Capello: Good or Bad?

I really dont fully support the appointment of capello despite his promises to build a winning team but i think they are better people in his position….like Del Bosque our favoured coach of all time but the asshole Perez sacked him (what an ass) or Camacho but he wasent given a full chance to show his full capabalities as coach in 2004-2005 cause he resigned on the same month he was appointed because of same fat bastard (PEREZ!!!!). Anyways on to the positive things . As a madridista i should say that without Capello we wouldnt have won our last 2 CLs despite him not being there. Why u ask? Capello built a winning squad consisting of Mijatovic, Suker, Seedorf, R. Carlos, Panucci, Illgner and improved other players like Raul, Hierro, Guti….etc. In any case only 3 are left from that squad as others were either retired or transfered to other clubs. So all luck to Madrid as they prove to the world of football that they are nothing to mess with and deserve the title “Best Club of the Century”… comments

Zidanes Headbutt

The way i c it is that Materazzi like most italians tried to get him sent off for being pissed and from my sources (www.goal.com , www.tribalfootball.com) it seemed he verbally insulted him through the whole game but finally in the end sparked a light bulb in Zidane’s rage and as a result the head butt. Personally i hated Materazzi before he did this now i hate him more for letting a football legend leave in the worst way.
