Mahamadou Diarra……….Good or Bad?

6 08 2006

Diarra was so influential for Olympique Lyonnais during the 2005/06 season that Michael Essien was hardly missed following his departure to Chelsea FC, although in any case the club’s supporters had long been admirers of the Malian international. Diarra joined Lyon for €3.8m in 2002 and was an integral part of the side that won the French title in each of his first four seasons at the club. The powerful midfielder has also impressed in the UEFA Champions League, helping Lyon to the quarter-finals in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

Diarra began his career at CSK Bamako, and had just helped them win promotion to the Malian first division when he was offered a trial with OFI Crete FC at the start of the 1998/99 season. He made a good impression and signed his first professional contract with the Greek side, with whom he spent a season before moving on to BV Vitesse in the summer of 1999. Diarra had difficulty adapting to football in the Netherlands, but coach Ronald Koeman took the youngster under his wing, working especially hard on refining the technical side of his game. He was a revelation the following season and after keeping up that high standard in 2001/02, Lyon came calling.

Diarra is wanted by Real and i hope he can sucess Emerson cause he dosent have much:P But the bad thing a about him is that he is too agressive and that proves to be a problem to La Liga more than the other leagues so u madridistas decide (if u are)
